LEAD job shadowing week has been successfully held in Brussels 25-29 Sep. 2017

The LEAD project job-shadowing week has been successfully held from 24th-29th  September. Academic leaders and university key staff members from LEAD project partner Institutions (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, University of Tampere, UNICA, Middle East Technical University, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Tongji University, Yunnan Normal University) had the opportunity to meet with peers and share their experience on academic leadership and governance in the context of universities international cooperation.

Activities during the job shadowing week took the form of observation, peer-to-peer meetings and side-by-side work collaboration. A detailed job shadowing guideline has been created for all job shadowing participants. The peers had the opportunity, for example, to shadow VUB Vice-Rector Prof.Dr. Sonja Snacken, VUB Head of International Relations Dr. Jaqueline Couder , and UNICA Secretary General Kris Dejonckheere.

During the week, the participants also participated in academic leadership training workshops, such as the training on collective leadership and team work by Prof. dr. Stavros ZENIOS, Professor of Finance and Management Science, former Rector of the University of Cyprus), the training on Change Management by Prof. dr. Yasar Kondakci from METU.

The job shadowing activities have contributed to the better understanding of job profiles, activities and management of universities or certain units in universities. These exchange activities have strengthened the current cooperation as well as the discussions and establishment of future new cooperation among the partners and all actors involved.
