2nd Series of LEAD Workshops on Academic Leadership took place in Kunming and Beijing


The 2nd Series of LEAD Workshops on Academic Leadership took place in Kunming and Beijing from 21-27 October, 2016.

The topics of the workshops focused on Transformation of Higher Education Institutions, Change management, Research innovations and policies, Educational innovations, and Academic team management. In Kunming, over 40 Chinese participants joined the workshops. Yunnan Normal University, as a partner of the LEAD project, hosted the workshops. The workshops were interactive and highlighted the exchange and participation of academic staff and academic leaders on the main challenges and their experiences as well as expectations of effective academic leaders. Six European experts and partners contributed to the facilitation of the workshops.

In Beijing, over 30 Chinese academic leaders, including university presidents and vice presidents, participated in the LEAD workshops. The academic leaders shared their challenges and experiences in university leadership, and stories as academic leaders. The success or lessons learned from both European and Chinese universities were highly appreciated by the participants. Eight European experts and partners contributed to the workshops. All participants were positive with the content and the format of the LEAD workshops and were highly motivated to be further involved in the LEAD project. National Academy of Education Administration (NAEA) hosted the workshops.
